Rock Soldiers

The Rock Soldiers (often called Stone Warriors, Stone Soldiers, or Rock Warriors) are an army from Dimension X that is under the command of Krang. They appear in the 1987 TV series, Archie Comics, IDW comics, and the video games Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 3: The Manhattan Project, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Turtles in Time, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Hyperstone Heist and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 3: Shredder's Last Stand. They are a race of sentient humanoids, whose bodies, as their name implies, are composed of stone. They are incredibly strong and resistant to physical injury, but not terribly bright. It is unclear if there are any females in their species, as all subjects observed to date appear to be masculine. Possible explanations for this may be that: (1) The females resemble the males so closely that they can not be differentiated by casual observation; (2) only the males serve in their military, leaving the females behind to rear young and tend to domestic duties; or (3) they reproduce is a non-sexual way, eliminating the need for two sexes--they may even be entirely artificial creations (something akin to the classic golem). [Special Note: The Playmates General Traag action figure's bio card, on the back of his toy package, gives his birthplace as underneath a volcano in Dimension X, suggesting that he might have been formed from raw molten rock.] The Stone Warriors' entire culture is geared towards war and conflict with a definite tendency towards aggression and hostility in regards to other species. Their numbers are organized into a strict hierarchy, with power/prestige directly linked to military rank. It is supposed that, at some time in the past, the Stone Warriors were defeated and subjugated by Krang. In Hot Rodding Teenagers from Dimension X (1987) two Stone Warriors General Traag and Granitor attempted to capture three Neutrinos that escaped from Dimension X to planet Earth.
