Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Adventures

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Adventures was a comic book series published by Archie Comics from August 1988 to October 1995. Initially, the comic book followed the 1987 series' story. However, after issue #5, control was given to Ryan Brown and Stephen Murphy, a couple of Mirage Studios employees. They immediately took the comics in a different direction, incorporating social, environmentalist, and animal rights themes. The cartoon villains Krang, Bebop, and Rocksteady were slowly phased out, while The Shredder remained as a main adversary.
With the success of the 2003 series, an unfinished story arc is to be released as a mini-series in the summer of 2009. The story arc is called "Forever War".
